JR
this large photography is done by printing many strips of a photo and glueing it onto the wall.i like this style of photography because its big and you can see the small details
|
i liked this picture because of the meaning behind it jr himself said that you can get shot once by a gun but 100 times by a camera
|
i liked this photography because its inclusive and the message behind it meaning that you are pointlessly fighting when you cant even tell the DIFFERENCE between someone from isreal and someone from palestine.
|
i like this photography work because it brings cultre and something to be remembered by,but also the photography itself being USEFUL because it uses vinyl(plastic) wich protects the house from rain and its so USEFUL that one of the people that used to live there took the picture with him to his new house
|
on my trip to jr's exhibition i saw DIFFERENT artistic views and jrs photography around the world. i personally liked it because the photography was very inclusive of gender age and religion and because of the tour guide i got to understand it well.
here we wrote a letter to somome who went to prison for protesting and i wrote a POSITIVE message to the person

gordan magnin
Gordin Magnin
Gordon Magnin is an LA based artist who uses fashion images and turns them into a unique collage of "altered found images" with his use of geometric patterns. His background consists of a Masters degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, a bachelors of science in structural engineering from the University of Nevada, meaning that his skill is entirely self taught and his experience is fewer than other artist who have manipulated images for a longer length of time to get to this level of skill.
He describes his work as "precise, intricate, geometric and destruction". His alteration of single images using precise geometric cuts and operations completely re structure the form of the original photos, and due to the majority of his photographs being portraits, the repositioning of geometric shapes cause deceptions at first sight as the eye is not used to features of the face being in strange places, which is what makes his work so unique and individual. His use of black and white colouring accentuates the features of the face even further due to the quality and use of shadow in his photographs.
His aim of work is to break down the expectations of perfect looking models and to challenge the industry's perception of beauty (he says "he tends to make the beautiful ugly") who said that his work was too extreme for them. He uses similar digital manipulation of images with exactly the same concept as when models would be altered to look unrealistically fake in campaigns and advertisements etc but I believe exaggerates that to mock the industry.

alma haser
alma hasars Cosmic surgery is imagined as a medical procedure that people can choose in the not so distant future for aesthetic enhancement, mood alteration, and to thwart increasingly pervasive methods of surveillance. Combining photography with collage and origami, Haser's playfully odd portraits consider the link between identity and image in a culture of visual bombardment. She suggests a fundamental shift in the way we understand ourselves and the world around us, picturing the possibility of a trans-humanist future.
"Experimentation has shaped my identity as an artist. I’m always thinking about different sculptural approaches to photography and how I can build layers into the work. I never know exactly how I’m going to produce the work until I’ve spent hours experimenting. Most of the time it’s a happy accident that shapes the final piece."

David samuel Stern
David Samuel Stern Brooklyn-based photographer creates unique artworks by weaving two separate photos of the same model.
“David Samuel Stern aims to build a bridge between direct portraits and abstraction. This way of abstracting the images does not only offer his subjects a way to hide within themselves, but also turns digital photography into physical objects by adding geometric texture. Being poets, choreographers, artists or programmers, all of the models featured in ‘Woven Portraits’ are creative types in their own field.”

i made these images in photoshop.
i made them by choosing an image that was large and duplicated the image and on top of the image i added a contact sheet, using the magic tool i picked individual boxes and deleted DIFFERENT layers from the images.

patrick cornillet
In this series, elements of architecture were taken out of their environment and reconstituted in the form of objects on a white background. The infinite nuances of concrete, make us aware of the wealth of the material and of the remains left by the humans and by Time passing by. Even if the architectures seem austere, spaces seeming uninhabited, dehumanised, Cornillet creates a particular poetry and a mesmerising mysticism.

Sun Ji's "Memory City" are architectural collages that speak of urban transformation as destruction and displacement of the old must make way for the new; memories recreated that are both meant to be forgotten and remembered.

heres the images i will be using for my response on gordan maignins work.
heres my take on gordans magnins work with pictures of my dad.
how i created this piece was i took pictures of my dad against a white wall and copying a circle from the middle of his face and CONTINUOUSLY decreasing its size and turning the it into DIFFERENT angles.
i did this by selecting the eliptical marquee tool and copying a small section of my dads face and by going onto edit and PASTING various copies i could give it the tunnel effect.
when i pasted the image i press control + t wich allows me to modify the size and angle of the CIRCLER image.
by doing this CONTINUOUSLY and decreasing the circles size each time you get the tunnel affect.

chris kenny
Chris Kenny is an Australian conservative political commentator, author and former political adviser. He is currently a columnist for The Australian newspaper as well as the host of a weeknight current affairs program, The Kenny Report, and formerly, weekly media program, Kenny on Media, on Sky News Australia.
here we see my response to chris kennys work, how i did this was i collected sticks and twigs in my local area and broke them in the APPROPRIATE sizes giving the sticks that human look from chris kennys work.i also added small ripped pieces of leaves giving it a extra touch of that naturally look.i did this work by placing the smaller twigs onto the stick body.
in my second response i want to make it a stop motion gif by taking consecutive images of the twigs moving by each image.

what went well, the shape of the stickmen and aligning of the different body parts to create the stickman shape

abagail reynolds
British artist Abigail Reynolds does not take images at face value. Using the art of collage, she enhances the original picture by creating intricate assemblages out of repurposed vintage photographs, magazines, encyclopedias, atlases, and other materials she finds.
for my abagail reynolds work i am going to take 2 DIFFERENT pictures one of a green area e.g a field or park and another picture on man made buildings and after printing them and folding them into each other it will give this affect it can also be seen as a evolved man vs nature.

FINAL piece
night building photography
for my final piece i did further edits on night photography, i went out in my local area and captured isolated mood areas and edited them example of this is change in colour and altering darkness. the darkness ands emptiness creates a cool affect with these places usually being crowded the isolation gives it a different mood.i choose these 6 because i liked how the light reflects onto the surroundings and it still keeps the darkness making it ominous.
